May 31, 2023:  POETS (Power Optimization in Electro-Thermal Systems):  Student Investigations into the
Electrical Properties of Matter Workshop
for 8-12 grade Chemistry and Physics/Physical Science Teachers.  6 hours  PD Credit.

This workshop will explore 3 different labs including lesson plans, slide decks, assessments, and some goodies.

Audience:  8th-12th grade teachers

Teaching Paleoclimate: A workshop to explore teaching paleoclimate. 6 hours PD credit.

Audience:  9th-12th grade teachers and students (students optional). 

Where:  Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMASE) room 219.

Time: 8:30 - 2:00

This workshop will explore how to teach “deep-time” paleoclimate by investigating climate change during the End Triassic Mass Extinction event.  The course will delve into how scientist go from collecting data in the field to processing it in the lab to generating real data.

Each teacher can bring up to 4 students. Students must have a teacher registered for this workshop.

2024-DESE-Mapping Creativity:  GIS Mapping and the Arts  Workshop for K-12 Teachers, 6 hours PD Credit.

GIS mapping is a system to display location and information.  Learn how to take your students on a virtual field trip, create a map of  your community's outdoor art or learn about maps that already exist for your use.  Software and technology will be provided.  This session is applicable for all grades and content areas.  Discover how you can use this tool to energize  your students learning.
